Reebok Stadium Big Screen
Why they came to us
Bolton Wanderers FC were looking to replace their existing hardware system that controls the big screen at the stadium on match days. Our proposed system would need to be able to manage the clock, scores and player substitutions together with image, video and Flash advertisements during the match. The existing system required two members of staff the entire match day to manage and Bolton Wanderers wanted a replacement system which was easier to manage.
How we went about it
As with all bespoke applications JP74 had to consider the hardware the system needed to run on and how the new system could work well within that format and meet the client requirements.
Just as important as how the software looked on the big screen, we had to be clear and concise with the back end administration system. The operator couldn't get lost in menus or click the wrong button during a live match, the system had to be easy to use and instantly understandable.
What we delivered
The stable system only requires part management from a single member of staff on match days. The speed at which the operator can manipulate the screen content means the screen information coincides with events on the pitch much more accurately, and the adverts can be targeted, running whenever there's a corner or goal kick.
The system has now be reliably working for six seasons now and each season the contract has been renewed with additional features that the flexible system allows for.
How they feel
“The system that JP74 built for the Reebok Stadium has been fantastically received. It is simple and intuitive to use and has been a great hit with the fans on match days. The screen has been solid and reliable, keeping our most important assets, Bolton Wanderer fans, happy.”
