JP74 are always looking to push creative boundaries and challenge convention. Since our inception, our core beliefs and principles haven’t changed and one thing has always remained constant — we pride ourselves on producing successful digital systems that facilitate different ways of thinking and new digital experiences.
As a collective, we thrive on unique and intriguing projects — and core to the success of our work is knowledge. Before we do anything, we like to get to know everything we can about a project: only then can we understand fully the end aims and objectives — and the most appropriate route to deliver to our exacting standards.
By immersing ourselves in a project we can discuss every step, ask questions and interrogate reasoning to find the best possible outcome.
From the outset we challenge the brief — questioning and interrogating exactly what has been requested. After all, what a client asks for and what a client needs may be very different. So we don’t just accede to a request — we ask why. And although it’s an integral part of any successful partnership, collaboration doesn’t just mean an agency’s relationship with a client. When it’s necessary we draw upon external expertise across a variety of disciplines to help us deliver the completed project.
We look outwards, we consider external influences, market forces, competitors and future developments. We take this research and revisit the brief, examining all avenues and making sure that a project has been considered from every conceivable angle. We take our creative inspiration from everything and become infatuated with ensuring we’re answering, and where possible, surpassing the brief and requirements.
Before we even start, we explore user journeys, interaction design specific to the project requirements, rapid prototype environments, the information architecture for the project; all of which helps us to understand what we’re dealing with. Of course, our close collaboration with our client helps enormously with ensuring our approach is on-brief.
After planning, we now have a clear plan of action in place. Everybody knows what’s expected; We know what we have to deliver and when. We work together toward a common goal — bringing each project to life on brief and on time. We show diligence in details, are future facing and work to best practices, usually meaning that we do more than is required to fulfil a brief, because we care about what we produce.
Over the years we’ve worked on projects for some esteemed and high profile clients, including Ragdoll Productions, Bolton Wanderers Football Club, Loewy, Quadriga, Egencia and D&AD.
Bibliotheque, The Chase, Research Studio, WorkClub and Truth are just some of the design agencies we’ve worked alongside in realising digital projects and enabling them to achieve their online objectives.
What really makes an agency is its people. We are a collective of creatively minded individuals that bring a wealth of experience and talent to every project we undertake.
Founded by a designer and programmer, Jake and Pete started JP74 in 2001 with a simple goal — to produce inspiring work for interesting clients — and we've worked hard to keep the balance just right while we've grown.
As the scale of preferred projects have increased, we've added specialists to our core, but maintained a belief in the importance of a strong aesthetic aligned with technical output.
Which all adds up to a core team of twelve talented people from a variety of backgrounds who are committed to creating bespoke systems paired with engaging design.
